What We Do
Our design skills cover a wide and flexible range of products and can be applied to practically anything you might require. Regular work includes logo design and stationery, flyers, brochures, illustration, promotional gifts, advertising, displays, signage and websites. At Root Studio we pride ourselves on well-considered concepts executed with regular contact with our clients to ensure we understand their needs and objectives. We have a keen eye for detail and a passion for unique and creative design.
The Environment
We love print. Despite it's obvious environmental implications we can't imagine a world without it, instead we work to reduce the footprint of a job by ensuring it's designed and produced responsibly and sustainably. There are many ways to reduce the impact of a print project including using sustainably sourced or recycled papers, vegetable inks and quality local printers. We don't stop with our print projects though, we include solar powered web hosting as standard for our clients' websites to sit naturally in webspace.
Reducing Our Impact
We also aim to reduce the impact that Root Studio has on the world. We do this in a number of ways: we've planted trees and adopted wildlife, our studio uses solar power, we recycle as much general office waste as possible, we are practically paperless and we all walk to work come rain or shine. Above all we care about the world around us and we care about what we do, we're just trying our best to make them both sit comfortably together.
The Design Process
Logo Design & Branding
We create creative, unique and effective brands that give your business the image and tone of voice you aim to project. Your logo is a key to your business and acts as your shop window that's why it's important to make this first impression count. Whether your business is brand new or undergoing a refresh we understand that your brand must project what your business is about, what makes it tick and why. It's important that we know what makes your business different before we start thinking about putting pen to paper. Once your logo is finalised we can also produce Brand Guidelines if required, showing how and where best to use the logo and supporting branding.
The Process
We'll send you our Brand Briefing Document to complete after which we will sketch out some ideas and develop them into more polished concepts on the Mac. We will then progress the designs until you are happy with the finished logo and finally produce a Logo Pack including various file formats, sizes and colours.
Print Artwork & Management
We offer a full design and print management service, taking the project from your brief, through design concepts to print and delivery. We have a great knowledge of print solutions, from unusual and sustainable papers to creative and individual finishes. Together with our network of quality, reliable print partners we can ensure that your finished products are produced locally and to a high standard. If required we can arrange for original photography and copywriting services to be included or our in-house illustrators can create bespoke artwork to add that something extra to your marketing.
The Process
We will take a full brief which will give us a good understanding of what you would like the project to achieve, the quantities you require and any print finishes or sizes that might be suitable. We will produce a range of concepts and develop these with your input until you are satisfied with the finished layout and format. We would then organise print and delivery and if requested supply you with a pdf version of the final design for future use.
Website Design & Build
Our websites are bespoke to your requirements - be it a static brochure, self managed blog or e-commerce marketplace, your site will be tailored to your every need. Every design is handcrafted from the ground up with each element carefully considered to achieve your goals and suit your branding. Our CMS system is dynamic allowing us to meet your specific editing needs and with Google analytics and essential SEO you're also ensured a naturally high Google listing together with analysis of site visitors. We test our sites in all popular browsers and if required we can build responsive / optimised sites ideal for use on an iPad, iPhone or any other mobile device.
The Process
When starting a web project we will send you our Web Briefing Document, this asks you the relevant questions to determine the style, layout and web functionality that you desire. Using this information we'll then produce a range of concepts. These initial ideas are developed with regular feedback in order to best meet your needs. The finished website can be tested in an offline area attached to our website before going live.
